Filing the FAFSA
- Students may file the 2008-2009 FAFSA beginning January 1, 2008. For more information regarding the FAFSA you may call (800) 433-3243.
- A student can request her PIN or file her FAFSA online.
Filing the PROFILE
The PROFILE form must be completed on-line. If you have questions, you may contact the College Board (CSS) at (305) 829-9793.
Receipt of Forms
It is the student's responsibility to make sure that all forms are received by the Student Financial Services office and that her financial aid application is in order. Students should regularly check their application status through Financial Aid Online. Reminder emails to check their status online will be sent to students periodically.
Deadline Policy
It is important that all required documents be received by the May 1st deadline. Since the implementation of our deadline policy the number of late applications has been reduced significantly. This has benefited students by reducing the number of students being held for registration in the fall. To emphasize the importance of this deadline, for those applications received after May 1st but before May 30th, the student's aid package will reflect a $1000 increase in student loan with a corresponding decrease of $1000 in grant aid. Applications complete after May 30th will result in a $2000 increase in student loan and a corresponding $2000 decrease in grant aid. If an application remains incomplete after July 15th eligibility for institutional aid may not be available. Periodic reminders of forms still outstanding will be mailed to students throughout the spring and summer.
Notification of Aid Eligibility
Students who have completed their aid application by May 1st will be mailed aid eligibility letters by mid-June. If we require additional information after we have begun our review of your file we will contact you as soon as possible. The deadline penalty does not apply to supplemental information that we may request after we have begun review of your file.
