Phenomenal Women: Telling it Like It Is

Mount Holyoke College is pleased to promote awareness of and appreciation for the historical accomplishments of African Americans during Black History Month.

From the very first meeting in November, the Black History Month Committee found itself motivated by a need to celebrate history while finding inspiration in the legacy of the Black community. At Mount Holyoke College, the natural step seemed to be a focus on the power of the Black women, thus the theme, "Phenomenal Women: Telling It Like It
Is."

Black History Month 2008 stands on the notion that as Mount Holyoke women we can find "phenomenal" path through the guidance of faculty, staff, peers & alumnae. From the stirring ideology of Keynote speaker Monique Harden, to the feel-good affair of the Old School Jam, to the honest presentations on our Phenomenal Men panel--this month aims to provide a truthful reflection of our community!
