Holyoke College
From the south:
Travel north on Interstate 91 to Route 202 (Exit 16,Holyoke/ South
Hadley). Head north on 202 through Holyoke across the Connecticut
River, and around the rotary to the exit marked South Hadley Center-Amherst,
Route 116 North. Follow signs for Rte. 116 North (second exit after
rotary). The College is approximately 2.5 miles from the exit.
From the north:
Travel south on Interstate 91, take Exit 16, and follow the directions
above.
From the Massachusetts Turnpike, east or west:
Take Exit 5 (Holyoke/Chicopee) and bear to the right. At the end
of the ramp, turn left on Route 33 for five miles to Route 116.
Turn right onto 116 and drive approximately 1.5 miles north to the
College.
By Train:
The Amtrak station nearest to South Hadley is in Springfield, Ma.
Call Amtrak at 800-872-7245 for ticket prices and schedules. You
can reach South Hadley by Peter Pan Bus Lines, van/car service (see
below), or taxi.
By Plane:
Bradley International Airport, serving Hartford, Connecticut, and
Springfield, Massachusetts, is 34 miles (45 minutes by car) south
of South Hadley on Interstate 91. Bus service between Bradley and
the College, via transfer in Springfield, is offered by Peter Pan.
Call 800-237-8747 for schedules and rates. Van/car service is the
easiest and most direct way to reach the College, but you must call
in advance for reservations. Valley Transporter (800-872-8752 or
413-733-9700 in Massachusetts) picks up Terminals A and B. The other
car/van service offering direct transport to the College is Michael's
Limousine Service (800-533-8470).
By Bus:
Peter Pan offers service from Boston and New York City to South
Hadley, with transfers in Springfield. For schedules and rate information,
call 800-343-9999.
Performance Venues
- Chapin Auditorium:
Chapin is located within Mary Woolley Hall.When traveling north
on Route 116, it is the first building facing the street when
you approach the campus. Turn right onto Chapin Road.
- Blanchard Campus Center:
To Find the campus center, enter campus through the redstone MHC
signature gate. Take your first RIGHT towards the center of campus,
you'll be facing Blanchard Campus Center and Skinner Green.
- Kendall Field House:
Kendall Field House is located on the backside of the Kendall
Hall Sports and Dance Complex. To get there, turn RIGHT onto Dunlap
Place (located at the north end of campus intersecting with Rte
116.) At the end of Dunlap, bear left into the Kendall Parking
Lot.
- Rooke Theatre:
To get to the Theatre Department building, from Rte 116 turn onto
Morgan St. (yellow blinking light, MHC sign is on this corner).
The building is on your left at the corner to Lower Lake Road.
Look for the vertical hanging banner. (For parking, follow Morgan
St. and turn left into the parking lot below Rooke.)
- Pratt Recital Hall (McCullough Auditorium):
To get to the Music Department building,from Rte 116 turn onto
Morgan St. (yellow blinking light, MHC sign is on this corner).
Take your first left onto Lower Lake Road. Pratt Hall will be
on your right. (For parking, follow Morgan St. and turn left
into the parking lot adjacent to Pratt. Handicapped parking is
on Lower Lake Road across from Pratt.)
