Welcome and Registration Center in Mary Woolley Hall
Open Friday, 10 am-8 pm and Saturday, 8:30 am-3:30 pm in the lobby of Mary Woolley Hall. At 4 pm on Saturday, registration reopens at the Blanchard Campus Center information desk (which is handicapped-accessible).
When you return the attached registration form, we

events, late-breaking information, and any meal tickets you have ordered.
If it is more convenient, students may pick up Welcome Packets in the
Welcome Center before families arrive.
*******
Friday, October 19
After you receive the weekend schedule from the
Welcome Center, you may browse the plant sale or enjoy a leisurely lunch
before events begin at 2 pm.
Master classes are an
opportunity to hear MHC faculty and staff share their expertise on a wide
range of topics. This afternoon's master classes include
"Sustainability at Mount Holyoke: Doing Well While Doing Good,"
presented by Five College energy manager Todd Holland and Russ Boudreau,
a specialist in facilities management, and "Bind Us
Together," presented by Rev. Gladys Moore, dean of religious and
spiritual life and director of diversity and inclusion.
John Body, associate dean for learning skills, will
hold office hours by advance appointment. (Call 413-538-2504 or email jbody@mtholyoke.edu.)
A Japanese tea ceremony will transport you around the world (register in
advance at the Welcome Center). Catch the kickoff of the weekend Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament and later on, head to Something Every Friday's a cappella "Fam Jam" performed
by some of Mount Holyoke's finest student voices.
*******
Saturday, October 20
Intellectual opportunities abound this morning. Take
in a master class panel on "The Changing Face of American Presidential
Elections" with James Hartley, associate professor of economics,
Penny Gill, Mary Lyon Professor of Humanities and professor of politics,
and Nigel Alderman, assistant professor of English. Tune in to student
academics at the Summer Research Symposium as recipients of a variety of fellowships and internships
share their experiences via poster and oral presentations. Enjoy Mount
Holyoke's "most beautiful campus" as you stroll on a guided tour. Sports enthusiasts
can enjoy more volleyball throughout the day, root for the MHC soccer
team as they take on Coast Guard, swim a
few laps, or pick up a game on the variety of courts at Kendall Sports and
Dance Complex.
Those who love the outdoors can join the Outing Club
for canoeing on Upper Lake -- and the greenhouse is nearby so you can still browse the
plant sale. Learn about opportunities away from Mount Holyoke as students
reflect on their study abroad and international
internship experiences. Enjoy Art Museum and
Skinner Museum docent-led tours or one of three afternoon Japanese
tea ceremonies (register at the Welcome
Center). The Myths and Realities of Law and
Medical School panels return, and several open houses will await your
visit: the Frances Perkins Program, the Career Development Center, the
McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives, and the Weissman Center for
Leadership and the Liberal Arts. Meet at the Odyssey Bookstore for the faculty author book signing.
President Joanne V. Creighton will welcome families at
the popular Family and Friends Weekend Concert featuring MHC orchestral and choral groups and the
Family/Daughter Choir. Saturday night, be entertained at Showcase Mount Holyoke -- a variety
of student and MHC community talent.
*******
Sunday, October 21
Religious services and breakfast begin the day. By
popular request, we have added Sunday Japanese tea ceremonies
(register in advance at the Welcome Center). In the afternoon, take in
the smooth sounds of the MHC Big Band, Vocal,
and Chamber Jazz Ensembles. They're presenting
"Screen Gems," familiar themes from TV and film, with music by
Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin, and John Williams.
*******
Throughout the Weekend
Religious services are
scheduled throughout the weekend. Recovery
and Gratitude meetings (for those affected by
another's use of alcohol and drugs or those in recovery themselves)
are available, as is a PFLAG (Parents,
Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) meeting. Enjoy time off campus, too -- take a drive to some local
points of interest (suggestions will be available in your Welcome Packet).
*******
Children's Events**
Visitors of all ages are welcome at Mount
Holyoke's Family and Friends Weekend and we've planned arts and
crafts activities with children in mind.
*******
And don't forget to take a break!
The weekend features a variety of events -- feel
free to pick and choose! And by all means, give yourself some
unstructured time. Blanchard Campus Center and Rao's Café in
the Williston Library are great places to relax between events.
* Outdoor events will take place weather permitting. ** If children will be visiting campus, please indicate how many are coming and their ages on your registration form.
