Every Monday in J-Term enjoy Chef Jeff Cookies, healthy snacks and tasty beverages at this all-campus M&Cs gathering in the Campus Center. Sponsored by Student Programs, this informal evening program will also feature eclectic video highlights on the big screen in the Lounge. FNL presents original live music by Naia Kete & Seth Glier, followed by an OPEN MIC. These young performers perform soulful and innovative music that will surely inspire. If you like David Gray, Alicia Keys, Ani DiFranco, etc, you should check out this special night of fresh music. The OPEN MIC that follows is open to all: play a song, tell a joke, juggle, recite a poem. You've got it! Its time to share it with the world! Free refreshments too... 8-10pm. Free.
Sat 1/12 Club du Monde: Blanchard Great Room
Everyone is welcome at this special Break Dancing Workshop with B-boy Dan-ski, a member
of Springfield's "The Ceremonial Masters" Hip-Hop consortium, consisting of musicians
(rappers and producers), artists, dancers (B-boys), disc-jockeys, and M.C.'s, united
together with one common goal of preserving the real Hip-Hop culture.. Veteran Hip-Hop
B-boy Dan-ski will teach basic moves and fundamentals as well as demonstrate more
advanced break dancing moves. He's performed or taught at all 5 area colleges and in
regional conferences, including an opening spot for rapper Nas. Check him out!
Club du Monde is a weekly international music cabaret lounge with complimentary sparkling

Thurs 1/17 Guffaw! Student Comedy Performance 8 pm Blanchard Great Room
Come out on Thursday night for some fresh comedy from the students of Griffan Randall's
J-Term comedy class: Guffaw! Students have studied & will perform three different forms
of comedy: improv, sketch, and stand up. Instructor Griffan Randall is currently the
co-director of MHC's comedy improv troupe, The Unusual Suspects. She has performed stand
up comedy at several well known comedy venues in the USA & was recently asked to compete
on NBC's Last Comic Standing. Get ready for an evening of laughs while you support some
budding MHC comedians. Not to be missed! Free.

engagement featuring two internationally recognized physical comedians coming together
under one roof, in the Blanchard Great Room. Rob Torres and Daniel Forlano in At
Home: a two-person, two-act performance of two completely different (and completely
funny) ways of life. Don't miss this rare opportunity to see some of the finest physical
theatre today (and one of them is a Hampshire College Alum!) Theatre and Performance
students, attention! Free, plus free refreshments for all!
Daniel Forlano was born in the Virgo Supercluster at the outer limits of the Milky Way
Galaxy near a star known locally as the Sun on a planet where the food is quite good.
When his college advisor offered to write him a recommendation to Harvard, he quickly
turned to comedy. He has since performed at such adored venues as the Edmonton
International Street Performers Festival, the Cape Town International Comedy Festival,
and the Wellington Fringe Theatre Festival, NZ. When not climbing ladders he likes to
climb rocks.
Rob Torres' Funeeestuff has been seen worldwide, including theater performances in New
York City, Tokyo, Singapore, Mexico, and Australia. He has also appeared at many busker
festivals around the world as an accomplished street performer. Whether he's changing his
clothes, setting the table, or just sitting down, you're guaranteed to have fun. Rob
Torres has a unique way of finding absurdity in common everyday tasks.

MHC takes over Tower Theater for a Midnight Movie. Join 125 of your closest friends for a special showing of the latest feature film. Open to the first 125 MHC students gathered at the entrance to the theater, tickets distributed starting at 11:30 pm. Weds 1/23-Fri 1/25 J-Term Ski Trip @ Stratton Mountain Vermont
Two full days of skiing & two overnights at Stratton Mountain Vermont, including lodging, lift tickets, transportation and basic food supplies for $150! Trip departs on Weds 1/23 @ 6 pm via MHC minibus at the Blanchard Bus Stop. Sleep at Stratton (double occupancy rooms) Weds & Thurs nights. Depart Stratton @ 5 pm on Fri 1/25.

Sat 1/26 Club du Monde: "Disco Dancing!"
Learn the hustle in a one-hour class prior to a fabulous dance party at Club du Monde.
Professional dance instructor and former hustle competitor, Reisa Alexander, will show
you the steps to this upbeat partner dance. Club du Monde is a weekly international music
cabaret lounge with complimentary sparkling beverages, coffees and snacks.
Although the hustle originated during "Dance Fever" days in the 70s, it has evolved to an
exceedingly lovely, sexy, and fun contemporary dance, popular in ballroom and swing
circles. After the lesson, Reisa will DJ, playing a fun mixture of tradition disco and
contemporary pop, all of which will keep you hustling until closing time. Local advance
hustle dancers will attend, also, so you'll see a lot of great hustle dancing, too! Don't
miss it!
