- To educate the campus about HIV and AIDS. To promote an understanding about HIV and AIDS and people living with HIV and AIDS.
- FINAL TEST NOW FROM COMMON WORKSPACE The American Civil Liberties Union of Mount Holyoke College seeks to promote discussion and awareness of civil liberties issues and to safeguard civil liberties. We seek to protect and promote civil liberties on campus and in the surrounding area and to serve as an arm to the national and state parent organizations.
- Amherst Koinonia Church is a five college church. Our vision has 3 parts: To be imitators of Christ, loving others and showing them grace, just as Christ loved us; to be witnesses of Christ to others, beginning with those closest to us and extending from there to the wider world; and to keep our eyes and our hope on the kingdom that is to come, that we may live our lives on this earth boldly and purposefully for Christ. (Ephesians 5:1-2, Acts 1:8, Revelation 21:1-4)
- AI's mission is to undertake research and action to end grave human rights abuses. A few of the many topics include: violence against women, prisoners of conscience, torture, human rights concerns with the war on terrorism, and the death penalty. The MHC Chapter advocates these rights through letter writting campaigns, lobbying, petitions, fundraising, awareness workshops, and traveling to attend other human rights events.
- The Arab cultural organization is comprised of women of Arab affiliation as well as students with an interest in Arab culture. Our mission is to serve as a support group for students of Arab and Arab-American descent, as well as educate the MHC community about Arab culture and issues, in both Arab countries and in the United States. It is our hope that by sharing Arab culture and issues with the community, our efforts will break old stereotypes of the Arab world and contribute to a greater understanding between the members of our growing multi-cultural community.
- Founded in 1999, AIR uses theater and spoken-word to illuminate a broad array of social issues relating to the Asian and Asian American communities, thus promoting political and social awareness and empowerment.
- AASIA was formed by several Asian American students of MHC in 1992 to address and bring about awareness of issues affecting Asian Americans. AASIA has aimed to be politically active, both on and off campus. It serves as a support group and voice for Asian American women, who as a minority group, are often unheard and overlooked. AASIA also works to strengthen the bonds within the Asian American community, as well as to unite with groups for students of color and other allies against racism and social, economic injustice.
- Our mission is to celebrate Asian heritage while increasing awareness of and appreciation for people of Asian descent and their varied cultures within Mount Holyoke and in the wider community.
- APAU, an organization for persons of African descent, plans and implements activities and programs designed to increase awareness of Africa's unique and diverse cultural heritage within the Mount Holyoke and the Five College community. APAU also serves as a support group that facilitates social activities to bring women of color together. APAU's main office is in the Betty Shabazz Cultural Center.
- This organization is based on bringing the different cultures of South Asia together.
