Entertainment and Performing Arts OrganizationsChorale
- Chorale is a fun, dynamic choral ensemble directed by Kimberly Dunn Adams and open to Mount Holyoke women from all four class years, grad students, and female faculty and staff. Chorale is also a registered student organization and a class that meets twice weekly for which students receive one credit per semester. We usually perform in four major concerts throughout the academic year including Vespers and the annual Family and Friends Weekend Concert. Chorale also collaborates with other chorale ensembles within the Five Colleges and beyond. We believe that in a world of political, economic and personal disintegrations music is not a luxury but a necessity because it is the persistent focus of human intelligence, aspiration, and goodwill. We believe that music is always a community enterprise and that choral art is especially important because it offers the most immediate and accessible avenue of active participation. If you are interested in belonging to a diverse, artistic community, don't miss singing with the MHC Chorale. You will sing great music, make new friends, and have a wonderful time!
Composition Club, MHC
- The primary goal of this organization is to provide a support group for student composers of music. Currently, we feel there is a lack of campus awareness regarding student composition as a major form of musical expression. We hope to bring together writers of all genres, no matter their academic major, as well as performers who wish to help premier new student music. We feel that hearing her own music being performed is integral to a composer's growth in style, technique, and creative confidence. Our hope is that at the end of each semester, after preparing an assortment of student-selected compositions, this club and its contributors will be able to hold an all original student music concert!
Diversions (A Capella)
- The Diversions is a fun-loving a cappella group at Mt. Holyoke College. Founded in 2003 the group sings an eclectic mix of pop songs. The Diversions will release their second album at their Spring 2010 jam.
English Handbell Ensemble (previously Handbell Choir)
- The English Handbell Ensemble is a group of students who meet to practice and perform Handbell music. We are entirely student-run and directed. We perform in the Vespers concert in December, and we have a Spring Concert in May. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join!
Film and Video Collective
- The Film and Video Collective is a community building organization that provides weekly cult classic screenings available to all 5-College members. We also try to organize speakers and film festivals on the Mount Holyoke campus. In the future, we hope to have established an environment for students to collaborate and produce films that will be screened on campus.

While acting as a central body of individuals working together to tie the numerous strings of social and political interest that exist on campus, The Network will serve as a vehicle through which smaller groups may find assistance to reach a wider campus audience. The Network exists as a student resource, working in the best interest of the student population to reflect campus interests through diverse and varied social programming.
