Women Recalling the Past: Facts and Fictions

Mount Holyoke alumna Katherine Butler Jones and independent scholar Lucy Knight are writers with a passion for the past. Dr. Jones will discuss her absorbing voyage into her family’s New York City history and the fascinating world of Harlem’s intellectual and social elite in which she came of age. Ms. Knight, author of an acclaimed new biography of social reformer Jane Addams, will focus on Addams and the power of activism. Knight’s attention to the early years of the first woman to win a Nobel Prize illuminates the appeal and potential of biography.
