Recalling History: A Symposium on Women and American Memories

What does it mean to recall history? In what ways have women summoned the past? How have they shaped historical narratives, grappled with cultural legacies, crafted memoirs, and influenced the future? Join us for dramatic performances that invoke nineteenth-century America and discussions with award-winning writers, journalists, filmmakers, visual artists, Mount Holyoke students, alumnae, and faculty about the power of testimony, the politics of memory, and the histories of Mount Holyoke.
