Socially Responsible Investing, or SRI, has been one of the SCA's longest-running
campaigns, begun in 1999. The goal of the project is to move some
of Mount Holyoke's investments (such as endowment monies) into SRI funds.
SRI funds are screened investments that meet certain criteria, such
as being cruelty-free (companies that don't use animal testing), sweatshop-free,
environmentally responsible, gay/lesbian, women and minority friendly,
and so on. More specific information on SRI can be found at the following
places:
Shareholder Action Network

SCA is currently seeking MHC student org. partners to work with SCA
to highlight a certain aspect of SRI (for example, SOAR will bring information
about animal testing and factory farming to the campus, or Amnesty could
bring information about human rights and corporations). If your group
is interested in being a part of this campaign, please email us.
