5) Currently MHC has an Asian Studies department, but no Asian American Studies department. If Asian American Studies courses were offered at MHC, would you be interested in taking one? Some examples of courses would be: English: Introduction to Asian American Studies, Art History: Imagining Chinatown, English: Asian American Women Writers, Theater: Asian American Drama, Geography: South-East Asian Diaspora, Queer Kinship in Asian North American Literature, Film, and Video.



6) If MHC had an Ethnic Studies Department, would you be interested in taking a course in it? Definition of Ethnic Studies: "An interdisciplinary department that encourages the comparative study of racialization in the Americas, with a focus on the histories, literatures, and politics of Asian Americans, Chicanos/Latinos, Native American Indians, and African Americans.  ES seeks to situate these core groups within national and transnational contexts, and to understand how racial and ethnic formation articulate with other axes of stratification such as class, gender, and sexuality."
