Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a GREAT day at Nationals today!! The team placed 2nd with 13 points, just 1 point behind the champion team- Lake Erie College. UC Davis placed 3rd, Centenary placed 4th (i think), Virginia Intermont was 5th and I can't remember who was 6th at this point, I think maybe Cazenovia. . Our individuals did amazingly well- we were the only team to have all of our riders in the top 6 in their class. Nicole got a 68ish and 3rd place in first level, Asheley made a HUGE difference on the horse she drew and placed 6th with a 66%, Nadine won Lower Training with a 68/69ish% and Jaimee got 4th in Intro with a 66%. It's been a long day-- we just now got back from dinner, and we have another long day ahead of us with individual day tomorrow. We've got some good draws though, so it should be a lot of fun!

We had another good day today at Nationals. . Katy placed 4th and made a HUGE difference on her horse-- he spent most of the day before running with a huge underneck and she got on and suddenly a topline appeared! Nicole also put in a great test on a hard horse. Unfortunately the horse wasn't quite interested in changing the way it went, so she was 10th. Asheley also had a GREAT ride on her horse, and placed 4th overall with a 69%. Janne and Jaimee were beasts in intro-- Jaimee placed 7th with a 62% and Janne was 5th with a 65%. We've had a GREAT trip thus far-- some of us went to the zoo and saw tons of animals on Thursday while some of us saw the impressionist exhibit at the art museum, we've had a great time getting to know some of the other teams in the region and will be possibly having dinner with them tonight, and ended our day at the show today with a dance party in the parking lot. All in all, just another great weekend with our dressage family :)

The team ate 3 entire pizzas at 10:30 at night. The seniors dressed up as Becky (Coach Schurink, B, Becky Schurink, and Beckster) and the other team members dressed as a librarian, a cheerleader, a nymph, and two trees. Becky was quite suprised when we went trick-or-treating at her hotel room door. On the way back from the show the team used the videocamera's night vision function for some fun footage.

And we're back from UNH. We had a GREAT time-- 60* weather, sunny, some fun horses, and gaining an hour of sleep, what more do we need?? They had some lame horses, so unfortunately we were only able to send one team. . The team got 4th. . Cathrine was 4th in her class with a 65.5ish (and right up there in the top placings), Asheley had a great ride and got a 3rd with a 63%, Marija also had a great ride on an adorable pony and got a 58.5%, and Janne got the gold star of the day-- her horse was pulled after it's first test, so she got an alternate who was never really connected in his reride, and she went with it and hopped on and put that horse together like it was nobody's business and got 2nd with a 63%!! So once again, a tired, but immensely happy dressage team!!

Kristin Rosseau was offered an individual spot in Upper Training at 830am in the coaches meeting. Team members drove back to MHC to get Kristin out of bed to compete. She got some coffee on the way to the show. After the show there was a dancing party in the parking lot. The go-go no-ho-ho song and cotten eye joe provided excellent dancing music.
