MHACASA was formed in 1993 to put first the issues concerning the African and the
Caribbean region. Since then, MHACASA has evolved into an organization which not only
seeks to do this but to also break down stereotypes about these regions through it's
annual African Caribbean day and Awareness week.
MHACASA is a group of young, vibrant, beautiful and intelligent women from the African
continent and the Caribbean region who are dedicated to maintaining cultural ties and
increasing cultural awareness on the Mount Holyoke Campus.
MHACASA is not just open to those from the African continent and the Caribbean region;
It is open to anyone with a vested interest in issues concerning these places.
