The Mount Holyoke College Student Government Association strives to bring the voice of all students to administrators, faculty, staff, and trustees to create cohesion and address all issues pertaining to student life on campus.
The vitality and effectiveness of the Student Government Association relies on students actively participating in Senate, Committees, campus-wide forums, and referendums.
The SGA
governing body is made up of the Executive Board, the
Senate, and Committees. Responsibilities are delegated among these representative bodies
in an effort to form an efficient and effective student
government that adapts to the needs of students and provides an outlet for students' concerns about student life. Student opinion is relayed to the administration,
faculty, staff, and trustees through dialogue in Senate meetings, committee
meetings, campus-wide forums, and referendums.
The
Student Activities fee which is paid each year by every student
makes up the total budget of the SGA. The money collected
from these fees is allocated to provide funding to the many dynamic student-run
organizations on campus that strive to provide students a rich
and diverse atmosphere beyond the classroom.
