A Cappella Competitions
*BOCA (Best of Collegiate A Cappella) -
for recorded and edited songs, released or not. CDs are due by November 1. If a group makes the 'final cut', i.e the BOCA CD for that year, they are required to buy 50 CDs at $5 a piece (total of $250) but then can sell those CDs for as much as they want!
Send 2 copies of the released CD and current contact information (or 2 copies of the recorded and edited tracks with -name of song, -original artists, -soloists, -arrangers, -date arranged and full contact information for the group) to:

*CARA (The Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) -
an album must be commercially available in order to apply. The only eligible CDs are recent CDs and these must be received the year after they are released (ex. CDs released in 2004 must be received by January 1 2005). Albums must be received by January 1st.

*ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella) -
Run by Mainely A Cappella (the website that sells our CDs). A live national A Cappella competition. While the winner wins $500, and second place wins $250, to enter the competition it costs a lot.

Outer Reach:
Take I-90 (Mass Pike) to exit 11A, the I-495 S exit towards
   N.H.-Maine/Cape Cod
I-495 S becomes MA-25 E
Take the US-6 exit, exit number 2, towards Bourne/Sagamore
Take US-6 E.  Pass through 2 roundaouts
Take US-6 E towards Eastham/Provincetown
US-6 E becomes US-6 and then goes back and for between being
   "US-6/MA-6A", just plain "US-6", "US-6/State Hwy", and
   "US-6/State Hwy/MA-6A" (Basically, just stay on some form of US-6
   (heading East)

Union Theological Seminary-
121st and Broadway, Manhattan
Take I-91 south to I-95 south.
Right before the George Washington Bridge, take the Henry Hudson Parkway to Riverside Drive.
Take a left at 120th street, right after Grant's Tomb (huge dome building.)
Take a left on Claremont--more, easier parking--and walk around to the Broadway entrance.

Take I-91 south to I-90 MASS PIKE towards Albany
Merge onto NY State Thruway I-87/90 NORTH
At exit 24 (Albany) get in left lane and follow 90W towards Buffalo
Take EXIT  25 (Schenectady)
After paying the toll, take 890 WEST
Take exit 4B (Erie Blvd.)
to NOTT MEMORIAL: After taking exit 4B, loop around and follow Erie Blvd.
                                          Go through several lights (passing the Amtrak Station)
                                          Take a right onto Nott Street
                                          After a couple blocks, turn RIGHT into the large parking lot on the corner
                                          Nott Memorial is in the Center of campus.
to DAYS INN: After taking exit 4B, loop around and follow Erie Blvd.
                          Go through several lights (passing the Amtrak station)
                          Take a right onto Union St.

                          Take a LEFT onto Nott Terrace - Union's campus is directly on your right

Fees - studio rates are $45/hr for recording/editing/and setup time
(usually about .5hour per session).  $6 for each audition CD and $0

Directions to the "Studio" (aka James' house) -
From MHC take RT. 116 South.
At the first light take a right onto Brainard St.
Take your first right up a hill onto Pine st.
Take Pine st all the way to the end where it intersects with Alvord St.
Take a left onto Alvord and another left immediately into the driveway.
Approx. Drive time: 5-6 min.
Our house is on the  corner of Pine and Alvord St.
White House with a gray garage. 80 Alvord St., South Hadley.
