When is Commencement?

What are the Commencement Weekend events?
On Friday evening there is a welcome reception. On Saturday morning, the Laurel Parade begins at 9 am. Baccalaureate takes place on Saturday evening at 9 pm.

How many tickets does each graduating senior receive for Commencement?
Each senior receives four tickets for Commencement and two tickets for Baccalaureate. In the event of rain, Commencement is moved indoors and all ticket holders are seated first. Once ticket holders are seated, the rest are seated.

Can a senior obtain more than four Commencement tickets?
On occasion we do have extras, in which case we put them into a lottery. Lottery sign-up sheets are posted from April 1 until May 13.

Can my daughter get special seating for elderly grandparents or a guest who is in a wheelchair?
Yes. We include a special request form in the Commencement mailing sent to families and seniors. Please fill this out and submit it into the Commencement office. We can make special arrangements with the four tickets that are given to each senior.

Can my daughter get handicap parking for Commencement?
No, we do not have special parking for handicap/elderly. We suggest you drop the guest off in front of the amphitheater. We do have a limited number of handicap spots on campus if you have the proper permit.

Should I buy my daughter flowers for Commencement?
The class gives each senior a class flower, so the decision is up to the parent. Here are some florists that are located near the College:
