SAW Activities
SAW student staff participate regularly in writing, speaking, and leadership-related campus activities to carry out the program’s mission to empower leaders who think critically and creatively and who write and speak persuasively. Participation in recent campus events include
Legacies of Leadership: A Student Conference In fall 2007, SAW student staff assisted in leading workshops for other MHC students on topics ranging from how to make a strong first impression to how to tell your story in personal statement.
Senior Symposium In spring 2008, in addition to presenting their own work, SAW student staff assisted in conducting workshops on public speaking for student presenters.
Senior Night In fall 2007 and spring 2008, SAW student staff met regularly with students to facilitate work on independent studies and senior theses.
Writing and Speaking Workshops Each semester SAW student staff lead a series of workshops for students on developing writing and speaking skills.
Women’s Education Worldwide: Student Leadership Conference In spring 2008, SAW student staff will participate in an international conference for students hosted by Mount Holyoke and Smith Colleges, by engaging in dialogue with other students about the relationships between peer mentoring and leadership.
