About the Web at MHC

Mount Holyoke College has 140 departmental Web sites and over 32,000 Web pages. The Web site was developed by the Web Strategy Team; the design and architecture was based on research, surveys, and feedback from key stakeholders. Our design and architecture goals were to create a Web site that:

  • meets the needs of our prospective students
  • is visually appealing
  • is user-friendly
  • allows for global design changes
  • alows for consistent site-wide branding
  • is easy for our communty to update

To assist in meeting these goals, the College

  • obtained and implemented a Web content management system (CMS). CMS is a Web development tool, which enables departments to update and manage their content quickly and easily.
  • utilizes a Web site statistical analysis program, which provides visitor and traffic statistical reports. These reports allow us to analyze how our users interact with our site and help us make informed decisions about what changes can be made to improve their experience.
  • developed Web Policies for the community.

If you have any questions about the College Web site or the content management system, or if you would like to providefeedback, please email: the LITS WebTeam.

Student Organizations

Please note: CMS is only available for Official College Web sites, which does not include student organizations (except for a small number of department affiliated organizations which have direct official oversight). The supported Web authoring tool for organizations, clubs, and personal sites is Dreamweaver. For more details, please read Policies by Type of Web Site. View the Student Training Registration for Peer2Peer Workshops.
