THE WAR OF THE BROTHERS
In May 6, 1998 Eritrea invaded the northern part of Ethiopia.
The two poorest states of Africa went to war with each other over
a barren, hardly significant piece of land on their borderline. Unexpectedly, the war developed into one of the deadliest massacres of the last decade.
Shattered economy, environmental degradation and, foremost, human casualties are the horrifying outcomes of the two-year fighting.

Why did this war break out? Why would the two nations tied by similar history, ethnicity, geographical location and economic strategies wage such an inhuman and barbaric battle against each other?

Was their territorial dispute the only or one of the few reasons for this war to have taken place?
