Downloading the Chromatic
Polynomial Program through the Web
This is for Version 1.0 (1995) for DOS
This Web Page provides you with an opportunity
to obtain a copy of my chromatic polynomial program through the
ftp site. To access the program, use this web connection and download
the file "chr.exe" to the subdirectory from which you
wish to run the program. Alternatively, you can log onto ftp.mtholyoke.edu
through an anonymous ftp and download the file in binary
mode.
After you have downloaded the file,
do the following steps:
- Load Windows (either 3.x or 95) on your IBM-compatible
computer.
- Under Windows, RUN chr.exe
- Click on SelfExtract
- Click on Extract Files
- Set Options: "All Files"
[Note: if you wish to use a different drive or directory for
your files, then set these up in the boxes to the right of the
screen.]
- Click on Execute. You will see the files
being "unzipped". When this is completed,
- Press any key to continue.
- Click on File, and Exit.
To run the program, run a dos shell,
change directory to that in which you have stored the program,
and run the "batch file" called "chr.bat"
(by typing "chr" at the dos prompt).
