                                                                                             Sinn Fein
    The Sinn Fein Party is the political wing of the Irish Republican Army and is mainly directed at achieving a an equal and just Ireland for its people. Really taking off in the 1970's the Sinn Fein party appealed to the working class Catholics in Northern Ireland. However the organization was originally started in 1905 by Gerry Adams, and was named Sinn Fein because it means " we ourselves," due to the fact that the Irish Catholics did not want to serve on the British Westminister Parliament, they wanted a government of their own. Their goals also included the right to attain self determination, promote peace, and end British rule in Ireland.

                                                                                            Social Democratic Party
   The Social Democratic Party and Labour Party was started in the 1970's with Gerry Fitts as the first leader. It was founded n the basis of equal distribution of wealth and it was opposed to deprivation.
