Who Was Chinggis Khaan/Genghis Khan?

Temuujin( the birth name of Chinggis Khaan) was the oldest son of Esuuhei and was born in Deluun Boldog, located on the upper ends of Onon River, in Mongolia in 1162. Esuuhei was the grandson of Khabul Khan who was a leader of Hamag Mongol Tribe. During this time, nomadic native Mongolians lived in the eastern and northeastern parts of what is currently known as the country of Mongolia in a clan system. There were many dominant Mongolian tribes, among which the Hamag Mongol, Tatar, Merged, Khereid, and Naiman were particularly significant.

Temuujin received the title of Chinggis Khaan when he became the King of the Mongol Empire. Chinggis Khaan not only the united scattered Mongolian tribes into the Mongolian Empire in 1206, but also conquered half of the known world. The Mongol Empire drastically altered world demography; towards the end of its power, Chinggis Khaan conquered the territory of present-day Mongolia, China, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Kazakhsan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Moldova, South Korea, North Korea, and Kuwait (SMH). Chinggis Khaan was known for creating the second largest empire, which endured for 150 years, the largest amount of time that any empire has ever lasted.
