It is a well known fact that many governments around the world have violated civil political, economic, social and cultural rights of their own and other citizens. In the aftermath of the events that transpired on September 11th many of these abuses have proliferated. Governments worldwide have resorted to actions to prevent terrorism which has led to many human rights violations.
