I
tried to get the lighting feel as if sunlight was pouring in on a nice
afternoon.
This
view shows off the wood floor texturing, as
well as the reflections off the ceiling lamps. I also happen to like
how the shadows play out on the floor.
The
oriental rug is an image map, but not the wood planks;
they are an original texture. I wrote a small randomizer to vary the
grain, color, etc.
used
on each
adjacent plank. Not surprisingly, the floor takes the longest part
to render.
The lamps
were created with an original texture; they are an opaque white
with a high reflective quality that still allows light to pass
through, giving
it an ambient glowing quality if the lamp is "on". (The light
is "off" in this render).
I'm
still not happy with the windows. They were originally going to be
gothic arcs, but I ran out of time. The reflections in the window
are still nice to look at, though.
The bookshelves make me very unhappy. I never could
get the wood texturing to look real. I was originally going to fill the
shelves, but ran out of time.
