Mount Holyoke History Chat

[Enter the message forum!]
There are three forms of history chats going on here. The first one is a message board, where you can post a question or a comment about Mount Holyoke, its history, our relatives who attended Mount Holyoke, collecting vintage items from the College, and whatever else along those lines that strikes your fancy. Anyone accessing the message board in the subsequent days or weeks can comment on your posting, or use it as a springboard to talk about a related topic.

The second form of interactive space here is a chat room. There will be specific dates when I will commit to being in the chat room to talk on a particular topic. That's just the starting place, though; we can definitely talk about other things if there is an interest among the other folks in the chat room. The current schedule is as follows:

Wed, Oct 30 8pm - Topic is "MHC Ghosts" Let's tell some spooky ghost stories and get in the mood of the season!

Mon, Nov 25 8:30pm - Topic is "The 1997 Uprising" MHC students staged a political protest and took over academic buildings in 1997 to advocate for changes on campus. If you haven't heard about this event before, come to the chat and talk with alumnae who were there and will share their memories and experiences with you.

Have a topic you'd like to see us bring up in the chat space? Leave a message on the message board or email me and tell me about it.

The third forum is an email list called '7sisters_history' for anyone interested in the history of the Seven Sister colleges (Mount Holyoke, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Vassar, Barnard, Radcliffe, and Wellesley). I've enjoyed chatting with other researchers on their projects, and you never know when you're going to find out something interesting from one college that you can use in your own research on another college!
