College Fairs:

We have been asked by several local high schools to represent MHC at College Fairs in early October. They are stimulating and will remind you what you like about MHC. If you are interested in helping out at any of them pleace contact Fontaine.

Highlights from this past year:

Our December meeting included an affable time of discovering how each preson came to live in the Kansas City area. We discovered that we uncommon women have many traits in common.

In March, we celebrated a belate Mary Lyon's birthday complete with Deacon Porter's Hat. Peg regaled us with an amusing version of the trials and tribulation of trying to make the dessert. Our servers even got in on the festivities. We enjoyed seeing who could remember the most Mary Lyon Trivia. This lead to some pretty entertaining stories of our remembrances of MHC.

We presented a 2002 Book Award to an outstanding junior at St. Teresa's Academy in Kansas City, MO.

Congratulations to Dr. Cathy Campbell (MHC '69), the Cottey College recipient of the 2001 Governor's Award for Excellence in Teachin from the Missouri Board for Higher Education.

Priscilla Marsh represented MHC at the inauguration of the new president of Park Univeristy.

Several have taken trips sponsored by MHC this year. Ask Diane Hensaw aobut her MHC trip to see European castles.
