KOSOVA
THE
QUEST OF A PEOPLE

- "Yes, blood stains the
Balkans--no, it's not just fate!" R.Cohen,

- This page is dedicated to the Kosovo Albanians,
their sufferings, and their strife for peace. The saga of the
Kosovar refugees during the NATO bombings of Serbia reminded
the West of the horrors of the Holocaust. Since the annexation
of Kosovo by Serbia in 1912, the Kosovar Albanians have been
subjugated to repression and discrimination by the Serbs. The
long and tumultuous history has left its imprints on the memory
of both Albanians and the Serbs. Today, Kosovo is undergoing
the process of reconstruction and state building for the first
time in its history. Will Kosovo's Albanians be able to transcend
the deep rooted animosities, hatred, and the urge to take revenge
and fulfill their aspirations for a prosperous and tolerant Kosovo?
Or will history repeat itself all over again? This moment in
history is surely unique for Kosovo and its people. Rehabilitation
of Kosovo can not be the only objective. This is a chance to
uphold the ideals of equality and freedom in a vitally important
region of the world.
