Eva Paus is the Carol Hoffmann Collins Director of the McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives and Professor of Economics at Mount Holyoke College.
Under Paus’ leadership, the McCulloch Center has combined, with intentionality, an expansion of learning abroad options with campus-wide curricular opportunities for comparative analysis of global issues, creative integration of international students into the college community, and strategic global partnerships.
Paus’ research and teaching examine issues of globalization and economic development. She has authored or edited several books and many articles. Most recently, she is the editor of Getting Development Right. Structural Transformation, Inclusion and Sustainability in the Post-Crisis Era (2013, Palgrave Macmillan, forthcoming) and of a special issue on the Middle Income Trap, the outcome of a two-year project she led with economists from around the world (Studies in Comparative International Development, summer 2012).
Paus has been at the forefront of introducing active learning pedagogies into the classroom: debates, simulations, case method, clickers, and videoconferencing.
