The French Revolution

Liberty leading the revolutionists

You are about to enter a bloody revolution.  A revolution led by a man who claimed that virtue and liberty could only be achieved with murder. That man was the infamous Maximilien Robespierre.  The French Revolution lasted from 1789-1799 and claimed tens of thousands of lives.  Some felt it was a failed revolution that started with the ideals of Liberté, Egalité, and Fraternité and transcended into mass killings, tyrannical rule, conspiracies, and unstable governments.  The revolution consisted of a series of political acts by reformers in the French Government. Their intent was to take away the absolute power of the King and rich landowners and form a government elected by all the people.
