AN INTRODUCTION TO TOY STORY
In 1995, Walt Disney Pictures released the movie Toy Story, about a group of toys that are alive, and end up getting lost in a town, left to find their way back home.
Featuring the voices of noted actors such as Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, Toy Story quickly became a commercial success, garnering $354 million worldwide, a huge success relative to its $30 million budget.
Besides the surprise success that it brought to Hollywood, Toy Story also became a groundbreaker in another realm--the world of computer science. Toy Story became the world's first full length, computer generated animated film. This site examines some of the processes that went into the making of this revolutionary venture.
