3) www.chaos.umd.edu/history/time_line.html - this was an important site in helping me to understand the history behind the Communist Chinese motivations.

4) www.nytimes.com/library/world/asia/taiwan-election-index.html - This site was particularly helpful with bringing the issues of the China and Taiwan conflict into the perspective of today's world.
