"Terms for Reconciliation Talks Established."
UN Integrated Regional Information Networks
A technical committee established to oversee the Somali reconciliation talks has established the terms of reference for the conference that will be held in Kenya at the end of the month. The terms that were set for the conference included the discussion of the concerns of neighboring states and the agreement to abide by the outcome of the conference. The technical committee is comprised of Somalia's neighboring states including Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya.
100 to 150 people are expected to be invited to the conference and will include the Transitional National Government, the Somali Reconciliation and Restoration Council (SRRC), and also include regional representatives from Somaliland, Puntland, and the newly declared state of Southwestern Somalia. Many hope that the reconciliation conference will be a success and hopefully help to bring stability to the country.
