Non-Abelian Hodge theory and (a touch of) geometric Langlands

For the most part this will be a review of the main facts about non-Abelian Hodge theory, Higgs bundles and local systems. I will briefly discuss its relation to the (quasi-classical limit of the) geometric Langlands conjecture, following Donagi-Pantev.
