Derived Categories of Cubic Threefolds

This talk discusses joint work with E. Macri on constructing invariants of cubic threefolds via semi-orthogonal decompositions of their derived categories. The main ideas come from Kuznetsov's work on homological projective duality and Bridgeland's stability conditions.
