Leszek A. Bledzki, born in Poland, holds a Ph.D. in Natural Sciences and a M.S. in Environmental Sciences, both from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun and a Forestry Engineer (Forest Management) diploma from the Forestry High School at Goraj. Since 1995, he has been working at Mount Holyoke College as a Research Assistant, Research Associate, Visiting Assistant Professor, and Senior Research Associate in the the Miller Worley Center for the Environment, Environmental Studies Department and Department of Biology. His research interests range from ecology, limnology, biostatistics and modeling, through ecosystems functioning, global climate change, nitrogen and carbon cycling in temperate peatlands to taxonomy, ecology and biogeography of Rotifera, Cladocera and Copepoda. For the past years, I have been collaborating with Dr. Jill Bubier (Mount Holyoke College-link), Dr. Aaron Ellison (Harvard Forest, Harvard University-link), Dr. Nick Gotelli (University of Vermont-link), Dr. Thomas Miller (Florida State University-link), Dr. Tim Moore (McGill University, Montreal, Canada-link), Dr. Thomas Millette (Mount Holyoke College-link), Dr Jan Igor Rybak (1934-2014, Warsaw University) and the Miller Worley Center for the Environment (Mount Holyoke College) on various aspects of Global Change, N and C cycling in temperate peatlands, ecology of bogs including investigations of nutrient regeneration by rotifers in bogs and the role of rotifers in functioning of Saracenia inquilines community, phytotelmata (the workshop - A Synthetic Approach to Phytotelmata Communities - at Wakulla Springs, Florida, USA) as well as taxonomy and identification keys to Cladocera, Copepoda and Rotifera from Europe and North America.
