I'm not an artist, so none of my art is going up here. For one thing, it would certainly help to have some first.
However, I do write. I used to write stories when I was young(er); however, I rarely finished a story, and I do not think I was very good. Of course parents and such people always tell kids that they write well, because it would be a shame to discourage a kid who wants to write, but truthfully, what kid can compose a narrative? In any case, I stopped writing stories after I was about twelve years old.
Oh, by the way -- old traumatic experience. My elementary school "published" stories that we wrote and put them in the library. When I was in third grade, my teacher would sometimes check these books out of the library and read them to the class. My friend Miya's books got checked out several times, and she bragged about it to me; however, none of mine were ever checked out. I was quite sad about that.
(Ooh, lightbulb -- I just realized I could scan the pictures in those books and have my childhood stories on the web! Woohoo!)
I then started writing poetry. You will not get to see any of it, though, because it was bad. I admit, I've seen some bad poetry in my time, but I really think mine takes the cake. It's trite; it has no meaningful rhythm; it doesn't even rhyme. Basically, when I got upset, I threw words on paper in order to get my feelings out. It worked for that purpose, because afterwards I felt a lot better, but it doesn't mean it was any good. Trust me. You really don't want to see any of this.
So what's left? Well, I have been writing papers for English classes since seventh grade, more than seven years ago, and I still have many of those papers. So guess what? You get to read them if you want! What joy! Don't worry, I'll put up only the good ones!
It has been suggested that I add a glossary
or something for terms that people might not know, such as verisimilitude.
I think this would be a very nice thing for me to do... However,
as it's a project that would take a good deal of careful time, I think
(to go through all of my papers and define the terms? ick!), I don't think
it will get done very soon. Nope, not very soon at all. So
sit on your hands and have a little patience, people. :-)
