The Mekong River is among the top ten largest rivers in the world, and supports the second largest freshwater biodiversity in the world. Traveling a total of 4,200 kilometers from its source in the Tibetan Himalyan Mountains, this international river passes through the territory of six countries; China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
