(The Continuous Struggle)

The Taleban as a government has been dissolved, a new democratic government has been installed, and despite that, the violence against women, and their continuing feelings of inferiotity goes on. So far you have read about the history of fighting in Afghanistan, the truth about the time of the Taleban regime, and the conditions of the women after the Taleban had been defeated.

What you haven't heard, is that the women of Afghanistan have been fighting, mostly the younger generation, being inspired by the nation, and acting out against the injustices of their society.

Because some women do not know how to fight these restrictions and injustices, the increase of self-immolation becomes evident, and although it is a painful, and regretable way of fighting, it is causing heightened acknowledgement of the conditions in Afghanistan by its own government, as well as the watching world.

Many organizations are set up inside Afghanistan, offering aid, food, shelter, some are even set up outside of Afghanistan, in Pakistan, serving as refugee camps. Schools are being set up for women and children, increasing their knowledge of the world, and their own living conditions.

Although the struggle for women's rights in Afghanistan continues and will continue for a long time, the knowledge remains that if nothing else, there will be change. Once you educate people, there is no stopping what can be accomplished, and for the sake of the women of Afghanistan, I hope everything they wish, comes true, all their pain and troubles will be solved, and that they themselves can be healed. May the world continue to work together, to strive for equality, and fundamental human rights.
