Uzbekistan’s
Foreign policy is targeted at:
- Strengthening
national independence
- Attracting
foreign direct investment
- Building
economic and political ties with various partners in both the
West and East

follow these policies, Uzbekistan joined numerous regional
and extra-regional
cooperative groups. Karimov has been most reluctant to create
coordinating organs and delegate powers to them. Uzbekistan
is a member of the
