Foreign Policy

 

Uzbekistan’s Foreign policy is targeted at:

  • Strengthening national independence
  • Attracting foreign direct investment
  • Building economic and political ties with various partners in both the West and East

To follow these policies, Uzbekistan joined numerous regional and extra-regional cooperative groups. Karimov has been most reluctant to create coordinating organs and delegate powers to them. Uzbekistan is a member of the following cooperative groups:
