Human Rights in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is an authoritarian state with limited civil rights. There is high censorship of the media. The government severely restricted freedom of speech and the press.

It is also not uncommon government practice to arrest, detain and mistreat the family members.

The government also restricts religious congregations and organizations. There is also dicrimination based on race, sex and disability, higher in some areas than in others.
