- Elementary French
for beginners using "French
in Action"
- by Professor Nicole
Vaget
- Oct. 25 = Day 1: lesson in
class with moderators (video)
Working with the video
of lesson 3:
This is not a passive activity. Your
teacher will presents the lesson using the dramatisation on video
toggling with his/her finger on the "play" and "pause"
buttons of the VCR, and stopping at the key points of the passage.
You will be asked to repeat systematically what you hear, and
to answer your moderators questions. Students listen and repeat
every piece of information they are able to remember. The role
of the teacher is to pause and make sure that his/her students
have understood the text, by asking questions repeatedly.
- "Le télé-play"
= As the students arrive in class, the French teacher greets
them one by one or in groups, then he identifies himself. He
tells the students that they are going to learn French by way
of making up a "boy meets girl story." The students
will then chose friends and invent adventures for these two.
In the class room the personality of the individual students
emerge, specially one who plays the wise guy, but nonetheless
agrees that such an endeavour is both amusing and worthwhile.
