7.5, 7.7 Pronunciation: You are learning the sound "é" and "è".
"é" is a closed vowel sound, mouth almost closed, tongue high to fill most of the space. Its point of articulation is fairly high in the mouth, and forward. Exemple: prénom, Cécile, santé.
"è" is an open vowel, the mouth is more open and the tongue is lower, providing more space. Exemple: père, mère, deuxième.
