2.31, 2.32, 2,33 Read the whole section twice before you decide on a "oui" or "non". You should guess by trying to recall words or expressions in the video program. Associate these words with their contexts, and try to guess the rest. Simply go with the flow using the word which makes the most sense.

2.34: Read " Pessimisme"= <pè-ssi-mism> document 1 in page 11 of your textbook. You are not expected to understand every word of this little exchange between park-bench philosophers. You should however get the general meaning without difficulty. Be preparred to answer questions from your moderator.

Read document 2 in page 12 of your textbook. It is an excerpt from Mireille's diary, her "journal intime"=<jOr-na-lin-tim> not to be confused with the newspapers that she buys at madame Rosa's kiosk. She is tired and dreams of going to exotic places, or maybe just to the movies... Be prepared to answer questions from your moderator.

2.35 Writing practice: select, organize, and write words and phrases that you have learned in this lesson. Use the various options which are listed in 2.30. In this exercise spelling mistakes count.
