| "I hope we may say that thus, this fateful morning, came to an end all wars." - David Lloyd George | World War I: Beginnings and the Aftermath |
| HOME | World War I, 1914-1918, began after the sudden assassination of an archduke and ended with a treaty that eventually caused another World War, with comprably devastating numbers. World War I claimed the lives of 11 million soldiers. Millions of civilians lost their lives as well. The era of world-wide wars was thought to be over, but rumors keep circulating about World War III. Hopefully, by gaining insight into the past and all of its chaos and destruction, these atrocities can be avoided in contemporary society. |
