Network (ETAN)


The East Timor Action Network is a grassroots organization devoted to ensuring the human rights of the people of East Timor. The network supports human rights by advocating for women’s rights, democracy, sustainable development, sound environmental practice, and comprehensive social, legal, and economic justice. Due to the history of the US support of Indonesia’s invasion and occupation of East Timor, the group works to influence US policies related to East Timor.

Presently the ETAN is working to indict and try Indonesian military guilty of the 1999 scorched earth violence in East Timor. They also work to ensure the progression of the US-East Timor relationship.
