Racism is Cool Again
30 September 2005
Racism is cool again. Ask William Bennett
who won't stumble over his words
to an apologetic genocide:
it isn't poverty or wimsy or TV that causes crime, but racial genes.
Condi Rice and Colin Powell didn't make much of an impression,
despite trying their darndest to please the man,
resurrecting Malcolm X's house nigger blues,
while Georgia, battle flag at the ready, brings back the poll tax
and Louisiana drowns. A stormy fall in America, Rush on the radio,
a slight hint of fascism in the air, but, hey, it's okay:
They put a token brown face on the evening TV show,
curvy and in her twenties, pouting lips, too cool to be angry
and so post-modern. Did you know Danny Glover's role in Lethal Weapon
was originally written for a dog?
Yes, racism is cool again, and William Bennett is right
to point out the logic that follows from metaphysical genes
to slave concentration camps in these United States of America
to Rosewood to Tuskegee to Armenia to Auschwitz to Bosnia to Rwanda.
Afterall, he was the education secretary and so he educates.
You want to live in a racialized world,
where the randomness of genetics be damned
and metaphysics is the rule,
where evolution is just another bleeding heart liberal trick,
and the African origins of the human race --- every human face ---
is just not an intelligent enough design,
where every single God damned day they throw race in your face,
then prepare the ovens and break out the rope,
because as much fun as racism is on a day to day basis,
it is eventually a real gas when the chickens come home.
