Camp David II

The 2000 Middle East Peace Summit at Camp David was a mediation attempt to reach a final status agreement to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The negotiations were called for by US President Bill Clinton; Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat led the delegations from Israel and Palestine respectively. The attempt was unsuccessful in bringing about immediate positive change in the politics of the region; only very minor achievements were made.
