Bellatrix is the Science Fiction and Fantasy Club here at Mount Holyoke College. It was formed in 1986, and is the longest continuous running student organization on campus. In addition to sitting around and talking about speculative fiction (the nice term for science fiction/fantasy), we also hold an annual Haunted House and a dance in April after the Tournament of Fools, an event held by the Boffing Club (which is not part of Bellatrix, there is just alot of crossover). In boffing, people use foam swords and fight with them, a wonderful stress release. We also attent conventions, the biggest one being Arisia, which is held every January in Boston and is one of the most popular Cons on the east coast.
Our crowning glory, as it were, is our library. Right now it is located in the coat closet of 1837 Hall and now houses well over 2000 titles, as well as many magazines, and some comics. Any student on campus can check out books, but of they are not a memeber of Bellatrix, they need to pay (I believe the current cost is $3).
Joining Bellatrix is easy. All you have to do is A-come to a meeting and B-Give us $5, or $4 and a book, or $3 and two books.
Since some of you newer members and people thinking of joining may wanna know what any upcoming activities are, here goes...

In the fall there will also be a Lunar Howling Society Home Page set up. I have been chosen the new Alpha Wolf, and we will once again have t-shirts to sell!
