In Bangladesh, thousands of children have
made the city streets their home and identity. Hauntings of crime,
hazards, insecurity, poverty, hunger and wretchedness, the streets
offer a life unimaginable to all except who live it. In such precarious
conditions, the fate of a girl child becomes inevitable. Left
open to exploitations, without any choice or power, the only way
a girl can thrive is by giving up herself for sale on streets.
Most child and adolescent sex workers of Bangladesh are children
of the street. Yes, it is easy to understand that it is a vioation
of human rights. But, their lives tell a story of such horror
that it is still unheard of.
