Thanksgiving is a time for celebration and giving thanks for all that our friends, family and (for those who are religious) God has given to us. Yet, many people, don't give thanks for all the blessings they have in their lives on a daily basis. Instead, they gripe about money, cars, and boyfriends/girlfriends. I am certaily been guilty of that before. But if you look carefully enough, on a daily basis, you WILL find that you have blessesd. I certainly have been. To celebrate Thanksgiving 1998, here are "some" of the blessings in my life.
I feel I have been blessed with the gift of life. I live a modest life. I have had plenty of ups, downs and in betweens. I could be bitter because I lost a good portion of my youth because I simply did not know how to have fun and enjoy life. However, I am not bitter. Everyone lives their life a certain way for a reason. I think I have learned that i should never take life for granted. You never know when it will be taken away from you. So today, I enjoy life as much as I possibly can. My youth will not last forever but I will try and enjoy it at every opportunity.
I have BEEN blessed by the presence of my friend Tammy Louie. Tammy and I go back a LONG way (back to Wallenberg High School in 1988). She believed in a person who simply had no reason to "believe." She gave support to a person who had no support from others. She helped start the process that changed the Donald from high school to the Donald most people know today.
I have also been VERY thankful for the opportunity to participate in sports all throughout my life. I was an athlete when I was young, I am still a athlete now, and will always be a athlete. Besides graduating from school, some of my best memories (and greatest) moments have come through sports. Through sports, I have learned the value of sportsmanship, friendship and unselfishness.
So my friends, these are just some of things I am thankful for. I have found that if we look hard enough, we can find things we can be thankful for on a daily basis. Give it a shot, you will not regret it
